Hi All,

I am curious to know what your pups weighed at 5 months?

Halston just turned 5 months old and weighed in at 14.8KG. Is this about average? Just wondering whether he is big for his age and whether I can predict how much he will weigh when fully grown.

My question is part curiosity because I have never owned this breed before and part concern that I don't want him growing too fast.

14.8kg is 32.6 lbs - I don't see that as big for a 5 month old male AmStaff. Pretty much the norm Very Happy

sounds pretty good to me.. It is hard to judge this breed with weight and age.. There are different styles. Thin bone, heavy bone and so on. And they develop differently as well.. Some get thick first and then height and others with stay lanky and hit height and then thicken out..

For example I have a 10 week old pup that weighs 21 lbs and a 16 week old pup that weighs 24 lbs.......Yes the 10 week old pup is big but so are his littermates they weigh 17 and 18 lbs and were big at birth..........The 17 lbs pup is actually lanky right now

Is there some sort chart that shows what male and female pups are supposed to weigh? One that would give a range like a 12 week old should gennrally weigh X to X?

I don't know if they do. I wouldn't think it would be correct.. There are different styles. Height and lengths, bone size and so on.. IMO
