Only time will tell, they will level out and then grow like crazy again. Grow in spurts, so just give it some time..

Our boy junior is 21 months old and can't get past 54lbs...

I would make sure there aren't any worms just to be on the safe side. If not any.. Then being a pup and running alot will keep the weight of.. I have some adults that just don't put weight on and some that I can't keep it off.. Some pups just grow into their height and those ones don't keep weight on easy.. I don't think it is anything to worry about.. But ck for worms to be sure..

Let us know what you find out..

Sorry, your visual is not good enough -- a vet needs to check for eggs, which is done with a microscope.

I agree 100% with carla.. Should be vet ck'ed.. And by looking at the pics.. He doesn't look like a healthy happy pup.. I would get him ck'ed out.. Meant no disrespect.

Zues don't take what meadowbrooke said the wrong way, he merely speaking from handling 100's of pups through out this life.

Always better to be safe than sorry, have him vet checked just to get a peace of mind..

I'm sure that you take care a lot of him and he is sweet. He is just a little skinny and I'm sure that you feed him well, maybe he is ill. There are a lot of possibilities.... I hope that he will gain in weight fast and you will share it with us.

I never heard this. A few years ago I fed my dog with dog food. He had serious problems and my vet told me that is good to feed him with rice, bran and other vegetables (potato and cabbage excluded ) + meet (especially chicken) + dairy products. Since that, 5years, he had no problems. But I fed him with Pedigree, Purina and Eukanuba. These aren't quality dog foods. Is here a topic about quality dog food. Canidae is one of them, which is good. My opinion is that your dog needs dog food. He is a puppy and he needs a lot of proteins.

What kind of food are you currently feeding? That might have something to do with it. But like a couple other people have said, it is not uncommon for puppies to have worms. I am constantly deworming our pups. Even the healthiest looking pups can sometimes still have worms. That doesn't mean you don't care for your pup.

But also some pups go through very awkward growing stages where they will look like bean poles, and it usually just takes time and good food to get them where they need to be. ( I call these phases the fuglies) LOL

For One You need to read correctly.. Don't ask questions if you are not going to like the answers. I meant no disrepect towards you WHAT SO EVER.. I was trying to help you.. I Don't know how he is around you so that is why I "STATED, in the PICTURE he looks sick and not happy. That was my OPINION base on YOUR pics and your words. And he doesn't look good.. I only had a pic and what you are saying and YOUR worries.

""HE IS MY BEST FRIEND AND I CARE FOR HIM ALOT"

Well if that is the case then and you are worried about him so much, take him to the vet. We aren't vets and we can only go by your pics and what you are saying.. If the vet clears him then it would just be him growing. Like I stated in another post.

And you shouldn't feed Raw and kibble ( if that is what you meant) at the same time.. Never good.

21 months old = 54lbs?

My Tyson is 8 months and is in shape and weighs 72lbs, what might the reason be for your dogs weight. He might be in better shape than my dog?

21 months at 54pds is very normal for an amstaff

8 months at 72pounds is not.. IMO
