This is Ozzy (Mt. Brier's Fire In The Sky) at 10 months old. He is quite the string bean right now and also very leggy, he really needs to start filling out and maturing, LMAO (right now he is just starting to get his cheeks in). Ozzy is a son of Multi CH Royal Court King Of The King, HD:B/B, AD:0/0, PA:0/0 (CH Skrams White Rock Red Dust, CGC, OFA X CH Royal Court Sky's The Limit, OFA).

Well it depends on each dog as every line is different. This boy is all White Rock on top and Sindelar/Benmar on bottom of his pedigree. So he probably won't be fully mature and filled out until 3 years old AT THE VERY LEAST. We have a long while to wait before we show him in conformation, but he is getting ready now for his rally and obedience titles then we will move to agility, with conformation last so he has plenty of time to grow up. He is very immature at this age and I would not expect him to look like anything until he matured out. I like dogs that mature slowly, as they seem to hold together the longest throughout their life and don't fall apart at 3-4 years old because they matured WAY too fast as a puppy What is your dog's pedigree? Maybe I can help you figure out *when* your dog will fill out/mature (and get his/her cheeks). |

He is a Newbelle pup from down here in NSW but they mostly line breed on US stock.. our boy is from an outcross to a bitch that is line bred on Van Gunn's
His sire is from an aussie line that started from Am Ch Pacific's Hot Pursuit that was imported to Australia. But i think that would be his Great Great Grandsire (at least).
Dam is linebred on Van Gunns, Van Gunn's Cruise Control being her Sire and theres a handful of other Van Gunn's and Cirkle C's in the pedigree too
here is his noggen at 4.5 months old.... i would really like his cheeks to fill out like ozzy's!

OK, well with the Van Gunn and Cirkle C your dog is going to be slow to mature (which is a GOOD thing, like I said, as the dogs that take so long to mature last in the long run and don't generally fall apart at 3-4 years old). So give your dog at least 2-3 years to start looking like something, he/she should start showing some "fill" then around that time. One Cirkle C dog I had here did not mature out fully until 5 years old (seriously!) |
