Here are a couple of Chianti's ears as a young pup.
Here they are today.
The right one started to stand a little when she was about I think 12 or 13 weeks. I glued and glued for ages. It didn't work obviously. I am sure that sometimes it does, but not in her case. Now they both stand. It doesn't bother me anymore, and in fact helps make her more approachable on the positive side. I call her ears her crazy charms - she has more charisma than any dog I've met, people just can't resist her, and I'm sure the expression with her ears is part of that.
Her ears suit her character, but I'm sure that her breeder would have preferred if they had been perfect rose (sorry Renee!)
Now, here is my APBT Loki
and another of him and my first one Katie - sorry for the poor photo, it's old and scanned but you can see the ears. I never glued or did anything to them, they were naturally rose. Go figure. |

i have heard of amstaffs whose ears just want to stand regardless. My boys ears went to do the same but i fixed them up with some tape. they actually have tape on them now because they were getting a bit crazy again. Lol.
The wonderful world of amstaff ears, huh? |

It's funny how their ears go through stages as they grow. Here is Taz on his first day home at 2m old:

This is my Jaco (Ironhearts's Jaco), I kept this ears intact so he wouldn't scare the locals with that big punkin head. . . He is a Goober. . .

If I had it to do over, I would have cropped his ears; they will go to a rose when he is excited, but are very droppy in the ring.[/img] |
