| It would be genetically impossible for a blue fawn to have a true black mask, would I be wrong in saying that?? |

no. That's what the dilution gene does -- changes any black on the dog to a bluish hue. On SOME dogs, the blue is so dark it can be hard to tell, especially from pictures. But one can usually tell a blue or blue fawn dog -- even a very dark one -- in person.

| It is genetically impossible for a dilute dog to have an honestly BLACK mask - it may appear very dark and "look" black, but it's not, it is just very dark blue. |

Daniel, you have me so confused I don't even know what you are talking about.LOL
No one said they didn't know. No one said you didn't know.
If I remember right.. The person came asking about her FAWN dog. I thought YOU questioned if it was a blue fawn or a Fawn.. Which I stated that if the dog was blue fawn that she would have said that and she stated black mask which a blue fawn can not have.. lolShe knows the color of her dog and we knew the color of her dog.. You are the only one that asked that question. LOL I am so confused with your post or something.lol |

the black male in question is BLACK
and he is off of a black mother and a flashy blue fawn and white male
mother of the fawn bitch is fawn and dad is red (correct Krissy?)
IMO no seals, MAYBE a blue fawn, but mostly fawns, reds, and black |

Hey Girl, now there seems to be a debate on what color her sire really is???????? Go figure!!!
Was told from one Person a blue fawn male, and from 2 other people and his papers red / white, but would be a light red??
At least I have plenty of time to figure that out, right now she is going to be Stoney's wife this month!!! |

Actually you can perfectly get blue-fawns from a Fawn x Black.
Fawn * Black will produce:
- black puppies only - if the male is homozigotous to black
or
- black puppies and fawn puppies - if the male carries fawn
or
- black puppies, brindle puppes and fawn puppies - if the male carries brindle. In this case you can also only get brindle and blacks.
Then you have to add dilution. If both carries the "d" gene, instead of fawn, blacks and brindle you may get also blue-fawns, blues and blue-brindles.
Quite simples |
