Why would you want to dual register an Amstaff/APBT? Isn't that sort of crossing the two standards and making your own?

Just curious what others think and why would you dual register?

LOL OH God.LOL

Well some people still think they are the same breed and that is why they do it. They don't feel that the standards are different. Just changed around some.lol

Some will reg them UKC so the can show UKC. The people are nicer with UKC and it is easier. JMO The handlers aren't paid pro's and just everyday people. I feel there is alot better sportsmanship in UKC aswell.
Not allow using handlers in UKC and you don't even have to dress up.lol

Some do it just so they can have that title on their dogs and it makes the dog and them look better.lol

Some people like showing UKC and Not AKC.

Well if someone like UKC wouldn't they be raising/breeding APBT's then?

My dog Bristol is dual AKC/UKC registered, as were his mother and father. I felt that dual registration would give some more availability for shows in my area. I also agree with the previous statement about the difference in AKC vs. UKC shows.

I agree with that.. I feel anyone saying that the APBT and Amstaffs are the same then they could just own APBT and there isn't a fight about it.
I think some like AKC and try to convince everyone that they are the same. JMO

Now, don't take me wrong. I have NOTHING against UKC at all.. I just believe my dogs are AKC AMSTAFFS. I have a boy that is dual reg and I didn't do it. He is UKC/AKC champion.

I also know people that preach that these dogs AREN'T APBT but yet they reg them UKC and show them UKC.. I don't agree with that.

If you really think they are the same then I see no wrong with it. I just don't agree with it. lol

Oh I know your not. I just didn't want people to think I had something against it or thought it was good or bad. I just believe that my dogs are AKC Amstaffs. If we could show amstaffs as amstaff we would probably show UKC.. Much Nicer and down to earth.

I have dual registered dogs. I have decided that UKC is not for me anymore, too much drama.

I don't care if someone wants to single register a dog I produce but never never never will any of my dogs be bred to a UKC only dog.

Well here is why mine are all Dual registered, or even Triple registered, and my 2 cents Smile

I like to show in both venues, and I also like to do the working events that UKC offers. A couple of mine are even ADBA registered also. The FO, P1, and weight pull titles are an example. Yes AKC has the rally and OB, but really at this point nothing else for the Amstaff. I just like to be on the go with my dogs, so if I can find an event to go to, I am there. Smile I do not think their is anything wrong in getting titles in both registries, but when it comes to breeding I will not cross them either.
Examples of things we compete or have fun in:
APA - weight pull
ADBA - weight pull, and I have one Amstaff that trims down nicely for the ring too.
NKC - weight pull
ARBA- conformation
UKC - weight pull, conformation, Protection events, dock diving
AKC- conformation, rally, ob
Iron Dog Events - OH YEAH!!!
See there is so much to do with your dog, if that is your cup of tea. And I have to say it is a BLAST, and a rush to take an Amstaff out and blow away some of those Shephards, and Malinois in the bite work field it is not an easy task. You should see some of the looks we get showing up at some of these events with our Amstaffs or Pitbulls, they (of course not all) roll their eyes, Rolling Eyes but most have a changed mind when we leave. Laughing

Erich I was reading this subject and when I read yours I coudn't believe it was you but when i see Bristol ....how funny!!!! Shocked
I am glad to see you here .....

By the way how's baby Bristol doing ????LOL

Anyways I love to show both registrations and i regsiter my AKC at a year old with UKC so I can show them and get them title as well
Now, when it come to a breeding I wont mix one to another , AKC will be bred to AKC first always , and I will make sure buyers follow that when they are dual .

Too funny for sure. As I indicated in another post, Bristol's doing very well. He's a fantastic dog, and Trish and I feel very fortunate to have him. Nice to see you on this board.
