you're welcome.. Yes i know.. i think they meant human aggression.
But i am sure they will be ok with male dog that shows male dog aggression as long as they don't have any fighting scars... Not easy i know... I wonder if there are any male AST that doesn't get aggression with another male?
I have seen one that doesn't until the other one shows it. But i have seen male pitbulls play well so maybe it is some dogs.
My bitch doesn't show aggression to another females and males... but I have seen her getting into conflict when playing get too long..
Thanks for the links i will look it up and get in touch with them. I am trying to gether everything as i can to fight against BSL and DDA.
Will put feedback into this post about UK when there is change or anything i think is revelance. |

| The uk kennel club is not an FCI member. Nor has an agreement with the AKC regard this issue. So the American Staffordshire Terrier is not recognized by the British, they say it's just a "type" of dog. When I asked a British official about this issue he replied "why not British?? get a staffybull"! |

thanks for writing back ..so i understand that you could bring an amstaff from another country and they can't touch you since you have a pedigree and all the papers stating that you have an amstaff(of course if they let yuou in with the dog and the dog is not agressiv in any way). But what if you want to buy one in UK, since you can't register the dog with the kennel club that means you can't prove to the police that it is in fact an amstaff not a pitt bull, is that correct??....can you buy a good amstaff in UK anyway?? if yes what are the proces?? |

Well, this is what I got out of this thread.
TECHNICALLY, amstaffs are not banned and you can bring them in to the UK.
HOWEVER, LEGALLY they can claim your dog as a "pit bull" or "pit bull type" with or without showing any form of aggression, and can take your dog, no matter what your paper says.
Going by this information, I would not take an amstaff into that country. You run the risk of losing the dog and that is a risk i would not want to take. |

Look, the uk kennel club is not an FCI, they don't recognize the breed. Maybe you have a pedigree but they don't recognize it. It's just a pit-bull type of dog in the UK.
DEFRA ( Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) SAYS:
The law refers to four kinds of dog which
are banned:
• Pit Bull Terrier
• Japanese Tosa
• Dogo Argentino
• Fila Braziliero
"Pit Bull type dogs can be called:
• American Staffordshire Terriers
(Am Staffs)
• Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier (ISBT)
• Irish Blue or Red Nose
Also, some kinds of American Bulldogs have
been found to be Pit Bulls."
"WHO ENFORCES THE LAW?
• The police
• The local authority"

thank you so much, i got the idea even thought it is really stupid
i have a friend that live in menchester, UK and recently she told me she wants to get an amstaff. I did hear about the ban but wasn't sure about the details so i told her to make sure she won't have any trouble. It simsed to me she don;t really get it and telling me that there are a lot of amstaffs in her area and nobody have any problems, i was suprised but didn't want to argue since she is the one living there not me,That's why i came to your forum searching for anwears so i could explain to her that it's not that easy. She told me not to worry and that she will get a dog from a pro and she will be fine ? ....and that's why i also asked about the breeders and is the any good ones there.....she told me that there are and the dogs are really expensiv....sorry for the long story, i'm just trying to explain to you why i'm asking all these questions, i dont want her to get a dog from a back yard breeder for some crazy money and than she will have to put it down |

I know, there are amstaffs and pits, but when you are reported they are confiscated, they do a genetic test, a behavior test and if they consider that the dog is a "pit bull" type, the dog get put to sleep and the owner charged.
People are paranoiac there, they sometimes even report Boston Terriers or a staffie.
Skylar, who initiated this topic is from the UK and his dog's father was put to sleep because he was considered too "dog aggressive".
The UK is on my blacklist. |
