| Hi, I am a first time owner of an AmStaff and Ares is a great dog. I have a question/ concern regarding joint health. I have read that AmStaffs (like many other breeds) are prone to joint problems. My dog is only 1 but I am wondering if any of you feed your dogs special diets or give them supplements to help prevent joint problems, my vet doesn't seem to really have an opinion either way. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. |

I have only had one dog in over 20 yrs that had a joint problem but she had a hard life. Other then her, I never had an issue.
I think alot of times that people push their dogs before they are mature and it cause future problems. I always let my pups be pups up to a year and I never had issue except for one. I know they make stuff for joints. I am just not a big believer in giving supplements to my dogs, if not needed. These are just my opinions. |
