I just had a girl neuter a two year old dog.. We had him for over a year and he was one of the best that we ever had.. He was even shown a few times. She had him for 4 month and would call saying that she couldn't believe how gently and loving the dog was and how good he was around her kids and the house.

WELL! got him neutered and went all to heck. She put him her vet clinic for a week while she moved and had him neutered at the same time. When she took the dog home, Of coarse he was confused going to the new place but with the same family. Never been the same. Tore her brand new leather couch up and showing some agg now. She said she can't believe it is the same dog and they are scared of him.

Is this a reaction to the neutering or everything that went on.. I am a strong believer that this a breed that adjusts very while.. I have place adult dogs and took them in and never ever had a issue with adjustment.. I am thinking it was the neutering. Looking for opinions about this, is any..

I don't agree with neutering, in this way,I think you destroying a part of the dog's personality. Just thinking...if a men are neutered his personality never will be the same again.

Larry I think I told you about our five year old male that we had neutered. He went into shock and lost about 20 pounds and started peeing in his crate and was a wreck for about 4 months. He finally came around but he was a pain in the a** for about 4 months after being neutered.

Poor boy, I'm sure I know who you are talking about. I hope things get back to normal soon for him.

Well not neutering is ok if pet owner were responsible but since alot are not, I think neutering is the best thing.. I just never heard of this other then with Kris.

Yes, kris I remember. Your was the first I ever heard of. I am wondering if you are better off neutering at a very young age now.

Neutering a dog is the best thing for humans, but not for the dogs (in my opinion). My scientist uncle said that the dogs have an IQ like an 6 years old child, and if we neutering him, he will be frustrated, fat... (yes, in this way he will live a long life)

neutering is good and bad..

Neutering prevent dog from having *beep* cancer... and in most case less agg toward another dogs.. Of course they would fight back.

But like larry said.. there are too many dogs out there that need home and also too many mutt that are in the media blaming pitbull.

I had a cat when i was about 8, I was the only person he likes because i didn't take him to the vet for him to be neutered. Since that day he never likes my mother.
There are many similar stories about cats.

I don't know about dogs. But maybe it depend on some individual dogs.. Some don't realise that it is the owner's choice and got on with it.. some knows its the owner's choice and get annoyed???
Guess i would say that the male you're talking about is very smart dog... Lol... might be going through withdrawal thinking he is not worth it anymore knowing he can't impress the "bitches" outdoors.

or the hormone imbalnce is playing and need time to adjust to it?

No I would say it is best for most dogs aswell. Tell that to the dogs sitting in dog shelters getting put to sleep everyday. I don't think it is to great for them.. Why are they getting put to sleep? Because of over population of dogs and why is that? because irresponsible owners that let their unneutered males run the streets humping everything.

I believe they should be done at a early age before they know what is going on. IMO Now they do it at a very early age. I think it just might be smart to do.
