| I am ok with the practice if it is your beliefs that they are the same breed.. I understand that completely.. But to fight for the amstaff and then turn around and show them as a pit.. Just kills me.lol |

I dont understand that either...
Been through few slaying match about this now and again...
Do you think they should stop registering dual reg? So that they can be one breed or another?
AST had been around for 72years so i think it is about time that there shouldn't be dual reg... JMO... Because it is confusing people about the two breed. |

Well first I want to say that I respect peoples beliefs that say they are the same..
I do not think they are. In 1936 they introduce a new standard and then changed the name. The Pit and Amstaff has two different Standard so the amstaff shouldn't be able to go into a UKC ring and win. If it does then the dog has to be to the UKC standard which then would make it a incorrect Amstaff IMO. The pit was already here and the standard was formed around the dog.. The AKC standard was formed first then the amstaff was named and then the standard was for the amstaff to be developed from IMO. How can you have the same breed when you have two different standards? Even those they are show dogs and companions. They are still athletes and should be bred to the standard to be able to be conditioned for any sport IMO.. |
