| I have had really different experiences before with different brands of wormer. What is everyone's opinion on de-wormer brands that get BOTH the rounds & hooks (would be nice if it got tape worms too but at least both the rounds & hooks)? |

| Panacure: it's safe to use on pregnant bitches and young puppies. 4 weeks old I give it 1cc per five pounds. Then at 6 weeks I use pyrantel then at eight weeks I do panacure again. The panacure gets the hooks and whips and roundworms, but not tapeworms. But if all dogs are kept on frontline or some kind of flea preventative then you won't get tapeworms. |

Well....with three people saying Panacur I guess I will have to go pick some up! Never used it before, but was disappointed with another wormer I used that DID NOT get all of the worms (when a fecal was done it still showed some worms so the wormer only got SOME of them!). Has anyone ever wormed a dog with Panacur and then had a fecal done at the vet to see if it really got every last worm? My wormer kills the majority of the worms but some worms are still left behind and I am tired of it, so I threw out the bottle.
I have to admit, I have never used the Strongid or Ivermectin before on adult dogs. I would like to start using it but I have always been afraid of killing my dog by giving too much. Can anyone explain the dosing amount for an adult dog by body weight? I would never give babies this stuff (not sure that would be safe at all), but I would like to try it on some adult dogs. |

| first place if you use ivomec for heartworm make sure first that the dog has a negative heartworm test. You can also use ivomec for demodex and for various types of mange. I know I am still actually using more than necessary but never had a problem I use a insulin syringe and use one mm per 10 lbs (now remember this isn't a cc I know that a ml and a cc is the same) You can also contact Natures Farmacy and they can give you an exact dosage if your vet won't. The strongid I use is for puppies my vet has it for them |

I always had good luck with panacur with my adults. I do them like every three to four months with it.. I never used it on my pups.. Good to know.
Pancacur you have to give for three days straight.
Iver.. Is .1 tenth of a cc per 10 #
I know I use Nemex for pups and I tried something new because they was out and the stuff was crap and all my pups was loaded. |

interesting.. all new word to me....
I just prescribe it from the Vet only.. never had any worm... Will ask the Vet what it was called and post it here.
In my country.. Only veterinary surgery have the strongest of everything and is only available there where they had to do it themselves.. Other products from the store are not as good. Don't know why.
But my vet do give it to me to take it home so i can do it myself |

| It is just easier when you have a few dogs to do it yourself. We do everything that we can ourselves. But we have a great vet aswell that works good with us and answers alot of questions. |

| I agree.... it can be costly if vet do it all for you so many dogs.. thats why i goes to my vet that is happy to sell me the flea and worming prescription drug so that i don't have to pay for the consultation fee just for them to have their flea drop and worming tablet.. (even though i only have few pet) |

| yes, most vets you sell you flea meds and worming med.. But when you have shots and so on most won't help you out. You can get all you flea and worming meds online. You can save alot. |
