I'm not sure how many readers are out there, but I thought it would be interesting to see who some of your favorite characters are. My all time favorite is Harry Bosch, a detective in novels by Michael Connelly. I've read all of them and eagerly await each new release. Next to a dog, a book is a girls best friend :D .

Does Aquaman count? Going back to a kid, he was my favorite. Don't read much fiction these days, but the wife almost always has her face glued to her Kindle. Bob

Runner-up has got to be just about any character created by Douglas Adams: Zaphod Beeblebrox & Bob the Sandwich Maker but Dirk Gently (Holistic Detective) is the best!!

Penny, if you enjoy the Harry Bosch stories you may also like the adventures of a rogue FBI agent by the name of Aloysius Pendergast. There is a series of books about him & his cases written by two authors together: Preston & Child (Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child). They are absurdly entertaining as Agent Pendergast is quite the character :D

Bard the Dragon Slayer from The Hobbit. Been more than 10 years since I read that book, but I still remember thinking that this character was a bad m f.

And Red Orm. Red Orm is a character from a classic Swedish book called "The Longships" in English. It's about a Viking from the south of Sweden who goes on some Viking missions, goes south, gets caught by Arab slave traders, escapes, comes back to his people as a hero and a cheiftan of his community. He is the BEST warrior. I would so have to name a dog after him!
