Thanks Bob! I had the hardest time doing it and always had to have someone else do it for me.

Ok, I've uploaded the photo to tinypic.com, resized it to less than 80x80 and when I put in the URL code where it wants it from my profile screen it tells me that it's more than 6 KB. Any guesses to what I've done wrong?

Is it possible to make it a little smaller and still be visible? I remember I had a hard time getting mine to 6kb.

I just updated Tater's avatar and it wouldn't take. When I looked at the properties of the photo I made it was 6.3 KBs, so even over by a smidge will make it unusable.

I shrank it ever so slightly and it worked. In fact, if you look over at his avatar, you can see a thin white line on top and to the left, that's how much I took off, I just didn't bother to remove the white space.

That's where a program like Photoshop or Gimp comes in handy.

If you'd like you can send me the pic and I'll make it the correct size. PM me if you want my email, and if so, send the full size pic please. Btw, it would be the first PM I've ever sent/received so I'm not sure exactly how it works

Thanks Tater!
I'll try one more time and if I can't get it to work I'll send you a message. I appreciate your help. :)

no problem, I'd be very glad to help. You may be able to fix it yourself. Right click on the pic and hit properties, it should tell you the exact size and you could probably crop a bit out, most comps have some sort of built-in photo editing program.

I had that problem too so I just right clicked the image on tinypic.com, saved it to my computer and posted it as an avatar image that way. In the profile menu just Browse the 'Upload Avatar from your Machine' Hope you get it working. :)

I don't have a right click :( I have a Mac. BUT my husband has a PC so I'll try on his computer. The original photo is stored there and I want to try making it a lesser quality (he insists we take photos in this giant, high quality size) and then trying TinyPic from there. If that doesn't work you can bet Tater will be getting a message! :)
Now to just find kid-free time and pry the laptop away from the hubby ;)
