I need to suss one of these out. Almost ready to build my spring pole though :)
Another good temporary toy(espec for this time of year) is my frozen fish toy. Lol. I put sardines in an icecream tub full of water then freeze it and cut the container away.

There is a chew toy called a "goughnut" that my AmStaff absolutely loves. You can purchase it online at gouhnuts.com
They recommended the round black goughnut for heavy chewers.

Another website that has a toy for Bullies is: dogparkpublishing.com They have a ball called an "unbreakoball" They deal a lot with Bully Rescues, and have pretty good reviews on the ball. Maggie doesn't care for hers as much as the goughnut, but my parent's dog loves his, and carries it around the house. Dog Park Publishing also sells deer, moose, and elk antlers--although they aren't very big. Maggie loved her deer antler, and I just recently got a moose antler for her to try.

Nylabone big chews. Love the ChuckIt ultra balls. Great if yours can tear a tennis ball into pieces within seconds of getting ahold of it.

Just found out I have a new job so I am going to go on a shopping spree for dog toys!

Has anyone found some great, durable toys?

I'm definitely getting a couple black kongs, and have been looking into a staffy ball to play soccer with them.

I'd really like a toy that dispenses treats, but I'm not sure if any will be durable enough? I've seen a "kong wobbler" treat toy.

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere to hang a spring pole... something I really wanted.

Also: I have two dogs, an Amstaff x English staffy and a pure Amstaff. Should I be getting two of everything? E.g., two black kongs I can stuff with food and leave out for them?

If I were you I would keep it quiet about new options opening by a hike in income: believe me THEY are listening and make conclusions which are not always exactly in line with reality. I strongly recommend to secure your credit cards before a refrigerator truck arrives with 5,000 pounds of most expensive steaks in the town.

Any sports ball with fabric cover is great for a few play sessions, BusyBone Ultimate size lasts awhile...Moose antlers, definitely moose antlers. My experience with Kong toys has been they're useless. Sophie can chew any product of theirs I've tried into something unrecognizable within hours. [smilie=117_running_dog.gif]

Pippi (and prevous Runner) runs with large sticks. I have many of its in my garden. I throw one, Pippi runs and catches, I throw the second, etc... This is the "toy" helping the control under the dog. Better (for me) than a boomer ball.

I can't photo when she runs with the stick. [smilie=117_running_dog.gif]

I recently bought a tough Go Dog squeak toy, it is double-stitched and each limb is sewn on separately so even if they chew a leg off it does not expose the stuffing. It has a total of FIVE squeakers in it, one in each foot plus a big one in the body of the toy (generally a cow, sheep or armadillo). Bought it on 27MAR and he's chewed off the four legs of his cow with their squeakers but the body is still intact with its big squeaker and it's been more than a month. For only $10 it was worth it!

Three random helpful hints for buying toys for strong chewers:

Find a store that has an easy return policy, our local pet store gives you sales credit for destroyed toys, alot of places don't but it's worth finding one that does.

Don't be embarrassed in the store to pull hard on a toy, check the seams, pull head and feet or wings. If any threads snap or fabric gives, it's not sturdy enough.

If you can do basic sewing buy the Kong squeakers in bulk and use them to give toys a new voice when the squeaky gets chewed through. Cut and sew back together a hole on a seam.

Oops something happened - anyway the second toy (I was pretty much sure thinking - he will ignore it - and now it is one of his most exclusive favorite) a bone (artificial but safe) - I will stop tomorrow at PetSmart and let you know the brand name. That said about safety - if yours is younger than 1.5 y.o. I would NOT give him ANYTHING artificial - who knows what s/he will decide to swallow.
Another thing - they are very much Individuals - you never can predict what they like or not.
